ODI Bowling Rankings 2024: Who are the top 10 bowlers in ODI cricket? Find out here. These rankings, which form part of the ICC Player Rankings, identify and rank those bowlers looking to make waves on the global stage. This list has a combination of the established guns as well some up and comers who are setting international arena on fire.
The South Africans Keshav Maharaj occupies the top slot in ODI Bowling Rankings with 716 points. His career-best 741 points against Australia in Kolkata last year underlines the consistency, and skills of Maharaj making him one of all-time greatest ODI bowlers. He has a superb game awareness and is very effective with wickets from the first two Tests in Durban of what had been one so he was named Man Of The Match. This all really signifies his importance to South Africa who also top the ICC Player Rankings for Test bowlers with Dale Steyn having returned 11-60 at Natal’s Kingsmead ground which perhaps its own way vindicates their decision never seriously to consider prolonging Morne Morkel’s typical fast-bowling role beyond seven overs per spell on this tour.
In second place is Australia’s Josh Hazlewood, who has 688 points. With his disciplined and accurate bowling, Hazlewood has made quite a name for himself as one of the most reliable fast bowlers in ODIs. While his career-best rating of 727 points came against England in Melbourne earlier this year, he remains a key figure for Australia with ball in hand. The fact he is the no. 2 bowler in ODI Bowling Rankings for a good long period of time proves his consistency at the top level.
The third in the list, is an Australian again. Adam Zampa with 686 points. The leg-spinner has been an automatic selection in the side because of his bowling prowess and for good reason. As many as 695 career points to his name (v Bangladesh, Pune; two grandslams) highlight his gold-performer quality. His ICC Player Ranking reflects just how crucial he is to Australia’s plans in the ODI format.
